This is a course to become a professional writer, not to work in publishing. A series of internships will be more use to you and a great deal cheaper than doing a Masters course.

During the English Literature with Creative Writing programme offered by the University of East Anglia, you will be studying at a university rich in famous creative writing alumni, including Booker Prize winner Ian Mc Ewan and Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro.

The writers and critics of the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing are at the cutting-edge of their fields - that's why in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF2014), UEA was ranked joint tenth in the UK for the quality of its research in English Language and Literature (Times Higher REF 2014 Analysis).

Good readers make good writers' is the ethos of the English Literature with Creative Writing programme offered by the University of East Anglia. It isn't going to help you indeed it may hinder you with a career in publishing because everything about it says you are only in publishing until you can establish yourself as a writer. What employers want is experience and proven practical skills rather than endless bits of paper.Yes I completely understand, the getting into publishing was an after thought, that is not going to be my primary parameter to choose between Warwick and UEA.She liked the course as it is hands on, competent lecturers and writing work shops taught students various trades craft. The course has good links to various organisations.
