(25 minutes – M-561) After taking this course, you will be able to: identify cold stress hazards that can exist on the job; identify the nature, symptoms, and treatment of cold stress; and recognize the precautions for protecting against cold stress. (40 minutes) In this course employees will learn the safe and proper handling of compressed gas cylinders.They will learn how to identify the contents of a compressed gas cylinder, what to do if a cylinder is improperly marked or labeled, and the safety precautions for using regulators with compressed gas cylinders.(15 minutes- also available in Spanish) In this course, employees will learn the location of asbestos containing building materials (ACBM) in each school, the location of the district’s asbestos management plan, and the name and telephone number of the person responsible for the district’s asbestos management program.

(5 minutes) This course provides districts with documentation of employees who have completed an instructor-lead asbestos training course compliant with EPA 40 CFR 763.92.

(30 minutes) In this course, employees will learn the health effects associated with asbestos exposure and how to identify signs used to warn employees of the presence of asbestos.

(20 minutes) This course explains awareness level criticality concepts and the terms necessary to properly respond to a criticality alarm.

It also identifies handling restrictions and labels associated with fissionable material.

(20 minutes) This course lists the characteristics and challenges of a major flu pandemic and explains the critical components of effective response to a flu pandemic.

(20 minutes) The purpose of this course is to provide answers to commonly asked questions about the flu.

(30 minutes) By taking this course, employees will learn how to recognize hazardous driving conditions, how to minimize their risk of accidents, their rights and responsibilities as an employee when driving a district vehicle, and how to respond in an emergency situation.

(20 minutes) This course explains the hazards associated with electricity and water, ungrounded electrical plugs, and damaged electrical cords and tools.

(40 minutes) Employees will learn how to initially respond to an accident or injury situation, become aware of first aid guidelines and “good practices,” and be able to properly treat injuries and respond to emergencies.

(40 minutes) This course covers the principles of hazard recognition, general safety requirements, flashpoint protection and inventory inspections in the use of flammable and combustible liquids in the workplace.
